Holga in Brighton

My favourite experimental camera – the Holga 120N – comes into its own in Brighton. For those not familiar with it, the Holga is a fully plastic camera (including the lens) and is notoriously flimsy. It is (in)famous for its distortion, light leaks and vignetting in the corners of the negative. That, for me, is all part of the fun – it is decidedly not professional, which is right up my street. But used right, it can produce some incredible images.

For my latest use in Brighton, I used a Lomography Redscale 120 film. I think Redscale works best with high contrast images, and so it was a challenge to use this film in high contrast frames, as well as thinking about the nuances of the camera as well. I’m really pleased with some of the shots I got:
