Every July I have a great public events photography opportunity just down the road from where I live: the annual Guildford Raft Race, organised by the Guildford Lions on the River Wey. Sometimes I just visit the end of the race to catch the finale as people scramble to finish and inevitably fall in the river! This year I went to the whole thing, from the start at Millmead in town, to the end at the Rowing Club in Bellfields. This involved a fast paced walk to keep up with the rowers, and then outpace them to capture the end of the race as well.
